I purchased an old NFT system, the kind with the gullys, 4'X 4' but for the life of me I cannot find anywhere where it says when to turn the nutrient solution on and off. The best I can tell is every 20 minutes. Can that be right? Even when it's dark?

Hi...

Here is a direct quote from Simply Hydroponics

This is the kind of hydroponic system most people think of when they think about hydroponics. N.F.T. systems have a constant flow of nutrient solution so no timer required for the submersible pump. The nutrient solution is pumped into the growing tray (usually a tube) and flows over the roots of the plants, and then drains back into the reservoir...

There are also some very good diagrams at this site.

Hope this helps! What are you growing?
