For many years, first-time homeowners have asked me to help them. Show us how to use the charts, graphs, drawings, almost-perfect photographs and the concepts of residential landscape design found in most how-to-do-it books, they say. So, this new series, A Homeowner's First Landscape is an attempt to do that. I'll present unembellished photos, book and web sources, practiced tips and information in both articles and these blog enteries. Perhaps, this series will be almost like having me walk with you around your landscape. Questions, as always, are welcome in the Landscaping at Suite101 Discussion Section.
