Educational backgrounds and practical experiences vary from little and poor, to extensive and excellent. Anyone may, to the customer's disadvantage, advertise and work as a landscaper.

These Green Industry individuals may work alone or form small local companies. They may also work for larger regional and national companies or educational and institutional grounds departments.
Landscape contractors and construction companies are good choices for homeowners or managers of small commercial properties who correctly know what they want in the way of a landscape design, installation, or construction. Project results usually finish in a better than average fashion when the customer is close at hand to answer questions, make suggestions, and supply opinions as inevitable construction difficulties and dilemmas arise.
